How it's made matters. Each bag is handmade by Miranda, owner of Mtn + Pine.

Pendleton Wool Fabric is from the woolen mill in Oregon. Solid USA made brass and copper hardware. Leather on the back of the bag, flap and strap is from USA tanneries. Bag has an adjustable buckle strap, and hidden interior pocket. Bag is not lined. Front flap is the RAW edge of the hide of leather and may have marks on it. We strive to use all of the hide and have less waste. Using the raw edge of the hide for the flap creates a one of a kind look and uses more of the hide than if we were to cut that part from a pattern.
Leather is called Dirty Brown Athens, weight/thickness: 3.75-4.25oz, temper is light to medium. Description of the leather: Is a milled nubuck that has minimal finish and nice round soft feel. Some marking may show on the leather and is part of how the hide is, please note this.
Pendleton Wool is called Harding Black/Tan.
Approximate dimensions:
Height 8.5 inches, width 9.5 inches
Approximate strap width:

Materials used and process behind this product:
Each product is made from raw materials and sourced in the U.S. We take pride in hand picking each Pendleton® Wool pattern and pairing it with the most natural leather hide. Leather hides are hand selected and sourced in the U.S. Every bag, wallet, clutch, journal, and tote is hand cut from patterns we have created. Every strap on our bags and journals are hand cut from huge hides of leather. No two items are the same! All items are sewn by Miranda on an old industrial Consew 206 sewing machine that we purchase used with many years of life left on it. All items are made with minimal tools and small amount of supplies. One product can take hours up to days to make. We do not rush our process and enjoy making one of a kind items. Products are made in a small room at our house in New Mexico with our toddler by our side.
